Scrapbook documenting social activities during World War I, and subsequent decades in Columbia, S.C. Includes containing report cards, playbills, and photographs from Chicora College for Women in Columbia, invitations to officers' dances; photographs of American soldiers in uniform; "Wildcat" insignia badges from the 81st Division; greeting cards and postcards from American soldiers stationed overseas during World War I; memorial page "In memory of two friends who were killed in France." Items associated with Bruton's work as a reporter for the Columbia Record newspaper, including a letter, 17 Aug. 1918, to the newspaper editors from the Intelligence Office at Camp Jackson citing censorship violations, and an undated newspaper article in which Bollin describes an airplane flight over Columbia, with photograph of Bollin photo of Bollin beside an open bi-plane, with pilot Lt. E.P. Gaines of the Carolina Aircraft Corporation; and newspaper clippings regarding the service of American troops in the Great War, social functions in the Columbia area, and news of Mary's wedding on 21 Apr. 1920. Later items include copy of a newsletter, Off Stage Noise (Vol. I : No. 2 ; undated [1933?]), published by Town Theatre (Columbia, S.C.); ephemera collected during a visit to New York during Sept. 1933, include the following publications: Forty-Eighth Street Theatre program, This Week in New York, Gotham Life - the official Metropolitan Guide, and souvenir program for a screening of the MGM film, Dinner at 8, at the Astor Theatre.
